Perfect sailing conditions blessed the Optimist and Laser sailors in the Great Sound today as part of the Digicel sponsored Bermuda Spring Break Regatta. The competitors arrived on time and racing got underway soon after 10am. The sun shone most of the day, the winds started solidly, but then dropped down to relatively light for 2-3 races, but fortunately they built up again for the final 2 races. 6 races were completed today and the stand out performances came from:- - Campbell Patton, who celebrated his 13th Birthday on Friday night. Despite breaking his mast-step he managed to win the weekend's racing with net points of 14. He is now looking forward to fitting his new Megastep! - 11 year old Felix Cutler, won an impressive 3 races today and finishes the weekend in 7th overall. - Matilda Nicholls (12) won 2 races today and enjoyed the windier conditions at the end of the day, she is lying in 2nd place overall, 8 points ahead of Adriana Penruddocke. The end of the afternoon saw the same winds in the Great Sound as were seen for the majority of Saturday's only race. After working so hard all day and having learnt so much from their Saturday efforts, the competitors did not seem to notice. However the sailors will all sleep well tonight after a lot of hard work this weekend. Bermuda Spring Break Regatta sponsored by Digicel.
