ELIGIBILITY The Trials is open to competitors sailing on boats of the Optimist class. Attention is drawn to World Sailing Regulation 19 Nationality Criteria. The age of a competitor at the end of the year in which the event occurs shall not exceed 15 years. All competitors shall be Members of BODA, or their respective Country of Residence’s Optimist Class Association.

The 2018 Canadian Optimist Championship will be hosted by the West Vancouver Yacht Club, in cooperation with the Squamish Yacht Club.  The event will have a pre-regatta clinic August 13-16 with the regatta running August 17-23rd.

This event is open to all sailors, male and female aged 15 and under. This Regatta will consist of two fleets, a Green Fleet course for novice sailors with little or no racing
experience and a Championship Fleet for those with previous racing experience. The Green Fleet participants will receive on course instruction by coaches when needed.

The 2018 Canadian Optimist Championship is a great opportunity for all levels of sailors, as well as for coaches and families, to enjoy a unique week of sailing while having fun together.
